  • The SWALCO Executive Committee will be meeting at noon on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at SWALCO’s office at 1311 N. Estes in Gurnee. Please review the meeting packetExec Meeting Packet 4/16/15 for this meeting. 
  • The Warren-Newport Public Library is hosting its 3rd Annual Craft-Swap on Saturday, April 18th from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Click on the link above for further information.  
  • The Village of Deer Park is sponsoring an Electronics Recycling and Shredding event on Saturday, April 18th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Deer Park Town Center (click on this link to find a detailed list of accepted items). Business or commercial waste will NOT be accepted. Please print the Event Flyer as a reminder!
  • Our first MOBILE HCW Event for 2015 is scheduled - We'll be in Round Lake Beach on Saturday, April 25th from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. Please review the Event Flyer for additional details.
  • Join us and celebrate Earth Month with a multi-media presentations and concerts the Village of Lindenhurst AND Waukegan Public Library on April 25th - Open to the Public! Please review the Flyer for Lindenhurst, and the FLYER for Waukegan for additional details.
  • SAVE THE DATE...May 9th, 2015. Here are the details for We have finalized the details for our annual rain barrel and compost bins sale. Please see the FLYER for the news! Lake County Forest Preserves will also be hosting their annual Native Plant Sale on this date.   • Fremont Township will be hosting a Paper-Shredding-Event on Saturday, May 16th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please see the attached Shredding Event Flyer for additional details.
  • We're working our way to your neighborhood! We've recently added yet another bin to our Clothing & Textile Collection Program at the Lake Bluff Public Works Facility & Recycling Center! We now have 20 locations available to service Lake County residents.

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, IL (SWALCO) was formed in 1991 to implement the Lake County Solid Waste Management Plan, and is comprised of 43 municipal members and Lake County.  The Agency and its five staff members are dedicated to implementing programs that increase reuse, recycling and composting and reduce Lake County's reliance on final disposal in landfills.  SWALCO's mission includes:
