Is your school a Lake County Earth Flag school? Do you want to keep your students interested and involved in practicing environmentally responsible behavior? If so, Earth Flag Everyday is the answer. The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) created the Earth Flag Program in 1993 to teach students about the need to rethink their trash habits and recognize the impact waste reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery (buying recycled) can have on the environment.
After learning these 4R lessons and earning an Earth Flag, many schools would like to continue their commitment to the environment by continuing their recycling program and implementing further environmental lessons and activities. The options offered in Earth Flag Everyday are fun, educational and thought-provoking. With this program, you are ensuring that the valuable 4R message learned in the Lake County Earth Flag Program will continue to be taught.
