The Village of Libertyville has contracted with Groot to enable residents to set out food waste for composting along with their regular weekly yard waste collection.  Residents may subscribe to this service for the season (April - October) or purchase stickers to place on containers.  Stickers are sold at Ace Hardware and Jewel Foods. contact Groot at (847) 693-2700 to subscribe.

Special Note: If a holiday falls on OR before your regularly scheduled pick up day, services will be delayed one day for the remainder of the holiday week unless otherwise notified directly by your waste hauler.

  1. Residential Electronics Recycling
The Village offers a residential electronic curbside pick-up program through the Village waste collector Groot. Collection will occur at your curb on your regularly scheduled waste pick-up day each week for up to three acceptable electronic items per week. Please contact Groot 847-566-5361 at least one business day in advance of your pickup day to notify them that you will be placing electronics at your curb.  Click here for more information about this program.

  1. Household Chemical Waste Disposal Options

Option 1: Year-Round Public Drop Off (Appointments are Required - CLICK HERE TO MAKE ONE)
The year-round program offers collections twice a month: the second Saturday of every month and the fourth Monday of every month (except December). These events are held at SWALCO's Gurnee facility, located at 1311 North Estes Street. Please use Route 41 to Delany Road (North) to Grove (East) to Estes.

Option 2: Mobile Collection Events (First Come, First Served)
Mobile collection events take place April - November at various locations throughout Lake County. Please check our website frequently for event updates. You can also Like Us on Facebook, check us out on Twitter, Linkedin and Tumblr. Plus you can sign up for the occasional newsletter.
