Grayslake Recycling Center Update

Effective October 1, 2025, the Village of Grayslake Recycling Center will no longer accept cardboard boxes, mixed paper, plastic containers, aluminum cans, steel cans, and glass bottles and jars. These materials may now be dropped off at the WM Lake County Recycling Center located at 30869 IL-83, Grayslake, IL 60030.  The WM Lake County Recycling Center hours are Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The Village of Grayslake Recycling Center located at 585 Berry Avenue will continue to collect and recycle electronics, food scraps, clothing, and textiles Mon - Fri 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to Noon..

Effective October 1, 2025 the Village of Grayslake has switch its residential waste collection provider from WM to Groot.  As a result, the Village of Grayslake Recycling Center no longer accepts drop-offs of cardboard boxes, mixed paper, plastic containers, aluminum cans, steel cans, and glass bottles and jars. They will continue to collect and recycle electronics, food scraps, clothing, and textiles.

Groot now provides residents of Grayslake with weekly at-home recycling pickups. Groot also offers a free or low-cost recycling service for all Grayslake businesses.
