Directors & Alternates

Since the Agency was formed in 1991, 43 municipalities, Great Lakes Naval Training Center and Lake County have joined to participate in forming and maintaining the county solid waste management system. Agency staff provide members with assistance and advice on any and all solid waste management issues.

Each member community designates a representative and alternate(s) to serve a two year term on the SWALCO Board of Directors. The representative must be an elected official, such as a mayor or trustee, or an administrative official, such as a village administrator. The current SWALCO Board Chairman is Peter Garrity of Libertyville. John Norris of Riverwoods is Vice Chairman.
